Ramanujan was born in 1887 in Tamil Nadu to extremely poor parents. He was a prodigal child. He always passed his examination with high marks.
Ramanujan was influenced by 90. Srinivasa Ramanujan (Mathematical Wizard) „ Ramanujan was born in 1887 in Tamil George Shoobridge in Pure and Applied Mathematics. He began driving his own theories and ideas. He received a scholarship in 1903 to study at the University of Madras. He invented new methods for solving mathematical problems. He was married in 1909. His wife was very helpful to him. Ramajujan led a life of abject poverty for severed years. He took up job of clerk at the Madras Port Trust.
His first work was published in the Journal of the Indian Mathematical Society in 1911-In 1913 he began corresponding with the British mathematician Godfrey H. Hardy and went to England in 1914.
Ramanujan did pioneering work in the field of continued fractions. He brought pride to India in a short span of 33 years. Indian Government issued commemorative stamp to honour this mathematical wizard. Various Institutions have established, Medals and Awards in the memory of this great mathematical genius.
Ramanujan died young on 26 April 1920 after contracting tuberculosis. For world Mathematicians, he belonged to the league of legends.
In December 2011, in 'recognition of his contribution to Mathematics, the government of India declared that Ramanujan’s birthday (22 December) should be celebrated every year as National Mathematics Day & year 2012 as the National Mathematics Year.
