A wolf and a lamb – Aesop’s Fables

One day a wolf saw that a lamb was drinking the water of a river standing by the side of fountain. The wolf became much greedy to look at the lamb.

But he thought he should have some reasons to kill it. He said – “Why are you mudding my water?”

The lamb said – “How can I do so, sir? The stream is flowing from your way to my side.”

The wolf thought, he should have another trick. He asked – “Last year you have insulted me?”

The lamb said – “I was not bom in last year.”

Then the wolf said – “Perhaps it was your father. Lo, you can throw words.”

Saying these words the wolf jumped over the lamb and killed it.
